is there a way to use my function keys in d2 with out having to push the FN button? cus my f keys now open help bright/dull screen projectior button FF and Pause and Slow etc...

Are you talking like F1, F2, F3 etc?

What is your laptop make/model/OS ?

Assign your spells to keys such as

If this is true ( issue regarding the F1-F12 keys )
Assign your spells to other keys
Escape -> Options -> configure control and there choose your new hotkeys
