Light+fire combo is almost solely useful in pvm, in pvp is not such a common need (better keep light res boots+aldurs or something)
Light+cold is needed by any char with a res stacking gear, which is needed vs blizz sorc and foher. That also has a little mana added, which is the reason of the +
