wait is the ribbon that connects the top half of the ps2 to the bottom half broken? if so you will have a hard time finding the right one...as there are so many models of ps2's...
i'd try the slide tool...

gamestop has em for 50, people are always selling on craigslist for 20

its still connected and everything...

is it damaged looking? try to push it in a little bit on both ends...very slowly.

Does the light come on on the ps2? if it does then that cable is not the problem. When you hit the eject button does it try to open but almost seems like something is keeping it shut?

were having a small get together but i know the top fell on the counter but it didnt look like that could of pulled anything
