This topic was created for a reference to answer basic Xbox One questions and to confirm/deny rumors that circulate the internet as well as other sources. This will be updated periodically as more information is released. With the information that has been released, the FAQ has not been broken up into sections yet but maybe at a later date as more information is released. What is Second Screen?
Powered by SmartGlass this allows you display second screen content on your television such as fantasy sport updates while watching live sports.

What is the benefit of being connected to the cloud?
Well a number of things such as: Your system will update games automatically, no more waiting on downloads/updates, your games and entertainment are stored and saved in the cloud so you can access them from any Xbox One console, start a game, movie, or tv show on one console and pick up right where you left off on another console & much more.

Does the Xbox One require "always on" internet connection?
No, the only time it will be required to have an internet connection is during the initial console set up. After that you can take your Xbox One anywhere, and play games for an unlimited amount of time without connecting to the internet.

What type of accessories will there be for the Xbox One?
Chat headset, Rechargeable battery kit, Turtle Beach Headsets models EarForce XO SEVEN and the EarForce XO FOUR, Polk 4 Shot headset, Bluetooth enabled N1 Surround Bar, &M ad Catz Arcade FightStick Tournament Edition 2 fighting stick.

Can I use my current headset for the Xbox One controller?
No, the new controller will not work with any current headset. However, there will be a backwards compatibility adapter that you must purchase which will allow Xbox 360 headsets to work with the Xbox One

What games will be out for the Xbox One and when?

What is the "Day One" bundle consist of?

How can I acquire my games?
You can buy the hard copy in a store or by digital download.

Does every game have to be installed?
Yes.

What is Remote Play?
You will be able to access your game library and play your games from different consoles.

Will Xbox One work without Kinect?
No, Xbox One will require the new Kinect device to be attached to the console in all cases as it has been integrated into the functionality of the Xbox One. However, you can turn your Kinect off and not use it unless a game requires it to be on to achieve the full experience.

Will my Xbox Live Gold account transfer?
Yes

Will my Gamerscore be transferred?
Yes along with your avatar

Will my digital games library transfer?
No

Will I still have to pay for Xbox Live Gold?
Yes Microsoft will still require a chargeable service for Gold

Will there still be achievements?
Yes. Microsoft has also allowed game developers to add achievements over times such as daily challenges or events.

Will there still be Microsoft Points?
No, Microsoft has eliminated Microsoft Points and has switched to real life currency.

Can Xbox One players trade, purchase, and play pre-owned games?
Yes you can! Microsoft will enable you to let your friends borrow games or trade in your games at participating retailers. It is up to the third party publishers on their policies for game trading and borrowing.

What if my friend wants to borrow a game?
You cannot let a friend borrow a digital copy of a game but if you have the disc you can share games just like you can on the Xbox 360
