what exactly do i have to do with the well to fight something, can i only fish out of it? i suck at fishing and don't even have a rod

i seen a well earlier but caught a couple fish out of it and left lol

You throw items without any magical stats into the well and it spawns a monster which can drop some nice stuff.

ok, now i know not to just stroll on past them

im prolly not strong enough to kill it tho, i've been doing solo as i learn the game

Pool of Darkness
This forbidding pool may be found by navigating the dark and unexplored paths of the catacombs. Dropping a plain white item into the pool will spawn a more powerful monster than the ordinary ones you come across. Slaying such a monster will return your item with one or more magical stats on it along with a chance for additional item drops.

Fishermen may also find this pool to be a prime location to seek better fish than can be found in a typical fishing pond.





They aren't that hard really, plus you can go to town and regen and then go back and continue fighting.

If your gear isn't that good you can try welling items 2 tiers below your level (ie tier VI items at level 25, tier X items at level 45 etc)

... and if you make it to reach fishing level 15, sardines (the lowest fish) dont spawn there anymore (in town fishing they do, very annoying for a high level fisherman).

fishing annoys me period, i usually just use the shrine and sit in town for health

Something that will speed up your health recovery are items with life regen as a mod.

Simply swap them from inventory to equipped items when in town.

Don't forget to swap back to your fighting gear before you re-enter cata.

Regen gear usually is not very effective as fighting gear

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I'm limited on inventory space at the moment but once I have the fg I'll get the extra slots.

Also, when fishing, what's the best rod you can use while @ fishing level 1? Do better rods make the bar go down faster and resist snag easier? Is it worth it to buy a rod?

Edit: I'd also appreciate any advice on transmuting, suffesencing and the other one.

Inventory space can be increased by items that have EES (Extra Equipment Slots) as a modification.
Watch out for this mod on items that drop after combat

As you can see on this char I am capable of holding up to 24 items in inventory.

When you are ready to go into combat, simply swap your EES gear with Combat gear.
Even though it seems you don't have enough slots once you swap, your items remain in your inventory ready for use as required

As well, you can make up to 16 char's, and transfer items to them by using the Market Place transfer option.
This will help you keep your combat-active char capable of picking up new items as you slash your way to MQ
