(1) - First of all, i acknowledge that according to d2jsp Ladder Slasher rules/policy, there are steps in place to avoid scamming completely, so no accusation of scamming in this game will officially be recognized on LS. Second, i acknowledge it was my decision to trust someone, and nothing can be done, and i'm well aware of this. Despite these facts, it is still possibly to deceive one, and steal from people, as we've seen countless times throughout the history of the game.
(2) - I also understand many people on this forum will be pleased to see i've been scammed, and that's fine and expected, there has and will always be immature people around here. If you're too lazy to read and comprehend the situation, you can spam else where.
(3) - Finally, i don't deny that it was my fault to trust Rafaels, and i won't deny that i'm cheap, an offer to save 600 fg was made, and in order to do so, i would have to trust a person i judged could be trusted, he comes from the top LS guild - The Trust, and for the most part, i respect the majority of the members of that guild, have seen Rafaels around for a long time, and i figured in a wage between integrity and pixels, integrity would win, and if not, it would be unfortunate, but life would go on.
I work for my fg, and 600 fg is a considerable amount, so of course i agreed to do that method.
- This trade was done in the same fashion as a Diablo 2 trade, where one person gives first and the other is trusted to deliver the item as agreed, opposed to diablo 2, this trade would've costed me 600 fg to use a 'mediated' method. Which i couldn't really afford.-- This is to notify the community that
Rafaels is a scammer, and there is no denying it. --
The story :
- Rafaels saw my ISO: 200++ ee XIV staff thread and PM'd me to offer on his 218 ee XIV staff, i offered 11, he stuck to 12, i said that would be a stretch for me but i'd try to get it, he than proposed that if i wanted to do 11.4k fg and send the fg up front, then we could xfer the staff over the market place for 1 fg. We would save 600 fg by using this method.
- Most importantly, one must understand that xfering over the mp is done rather easily and done correctly, is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to be sniped.
I'll explain for those that disagree:
-- Seller: Item is set up on the market screen for the price and mouse scrolling over 'sell' while at the same time, a message 'up' is pre-typed.
-- Buyer: Sets filter, has mouse hovering over 'search' -- ready to click the item and buy it in less than a second. ( No gold password)
-- Seller hits 'sell' and ENTER to send the 'up' message at the same time (hitting 'SELL' a fraction earlier)
-- Buyer: As soon as he sees the 'UP' message, he hits search and instantly buys the item.
This entire process takes less than one second.
- Rafaels claims he put it on the market and told me 'up' in the same second.
- When i hit up the MOMENT i saw 'up' it was not there.. ( NO I DID NOT GET 'SEARCH FLOOD' )
- I even reset the filter within 2 seconds and checked again - still wasn't there.
This means, Rafaels claims that with 40 people online PLAYING the game, there just happened to be one person on that searched for MY EXACT ITEM, and bought it in UNDER HALF A SECOND. An impossibility... The only reasonable explanation is that Rafaels told a friend to come on and buy it, put it up seconds before he told me 'up' , got his friend to buy it, put it in vault, and deny that it was him, and said it was MY fault that it MAGICALLY got sniped in less than 1/2 a second.
What an absurd notion.
I've been scammed. Yes, i am to blame, not for losing the item, but trusting Rafaels, and for that, i will and have payed the price. It's just fg, life will go on, it's just a shame that people that have been around this community for so long will still do this.
Sat Jun 18 15:49:58 2011 Sent -11,400.00 (12,004.34 -> 604.34) to Rafaels (950.00 -> 12,350.00) 218 ee XIV Staff( It's no surprise he's already spent all the fg already )
I won't even deny looking at his profile picture and thinking to myself ' lol, not a chance in hell this guy's not gonna scam '
.. then i thought, lol that was racist, he's in The Trust and he's been around long enough, why would he scam pixels anyways, so i gave him a chance.
I paid for it, meh, it is what it is. and now the truth is out.
Our PM messages - by the way, he claims it was MY IDEA to skip the MP fee, rather it was his - i simply agreed, because saving 600 fg goes a long way for me.
AND SOME FINAL WORDS FROM Rafaels HIMSELF ON THE SUBJECT:
SAYS:
Rafaels: Your integrity is matched only by your intelligence and spelling.
You may have 11.4k extra fg, but i'd still much rather be me losing fg than be like you
