I will try to articulate my question as well as I am able, but please bear with me because it is a bit involved...

I am wondering what exactly is the relationship between the mobs that spawn in a normal maze vs trap door mobs.
I havent played in a while, but i know that when i last slashed the maze spawned monsters of the same level as the person driving the party when you first appear in the maze. If you leveled up while playing, the monsters still spawned as the level the driver was upon entering. Trap doors at the time spawned monsters 1 level higher than the initial maze mobs.

Now, I have noticed that I can level several times within the same initial maze with no trap doors and I seem to be getting the same exp per mob as when i first entered, this leads me to believe that the maze now spawns mobs according to the driver's actual level rather than the level upon entering. (I could be wrong here, and if I am please correct me :D)

And now I come to my question...

How does falling through a trap door (or several) effect the mob's spawn level?
If you level within a trap door maze are you then the same level as the mob? or does the level of the spawning mobs stay one above yours?

If anyone could enlighten me here, I would be forever grateful.

1. yes, it doest affect the monsters spawn level, Each individual trap door you enter increases the monster Level by 3. and it stacks, so if you enter several trapdoors in a row. you could be potentially killing monsters a dozen or more levels higher then you.

the EXP, is capped though, at the level of the monster the driver is.. so the only thing you get is a little increased drop rate ( untested) and Higher level drops ( tested and duly confirmed)

Question 2, im not sure, i believe that the monsters stay XX levels above you, but, again, untested (at least on my part)

hope i was helpful  good to see you again ;)

thanks otter!

so basically if i am soloing, taking a trap door has no benefit other than maybe a drop increase and for sure a drop level increase because of the capped exp at my level.

yes if u play solo y

cuz like paul saind in some topic @ td mob lv rise +1 lv ~ to driver it wont give higher exp but when playing n td games u will get (4 exaple) M - N exp (M,N =/=0; M<N) per mob when u get in td u will get highest amount of exp so ever mob will give u N exp (so max allowed) but mob will be harder to kill 4 u ofc :) so if u play with group and leader got lower lv then other team they will get better exp but if ledar lv is +1 rest of team it wont change anything cuz they will alredy get max allowed amount of exp

Trapdoors:
1) Increase the mob levels by a random amount. This will give you "more" experience depending on your level and theirs. If you're playing solo, the mobs are already at your level when you're exploring, so you won't notice much (if any) of a difference by hitting a trapdoor with regards to experience gain.
2) Resets objectives, including any/all progress towards ones you were attempting to complete on a previous floor.

Notice the bold.
