Well, after a few dozen hours I finally got done with updating and changing the layout of SC's Best Items list. I realize this is a big visual change and hopefully those that don't initially like the change will come to appreciate it. I tried to think of a way to handle over 600x different pieces of gear, make finding what you want quicker, and still keep the updates easy on myself and remove any dependency on a mod for assistance. This was my solution.

Filters are the key for google docs. Please realize the tips posted in thread. It's the only way to use it. If you would like to further manipulate the data, realize you can easily copy/paste it into your own excel and have fun with it :)

Lastly, I want to admit that this isn't how I end envision the list. The way it's written out now will allow me to code something I have in my head (search functions, item categories listed T1-55 Horizontally as seen in profiles, etc). This is now a workable database to code off of. I'm currently self studying Visual Basic and am then going to teach myself ASP.net 4.0. This language will allow me to do what I want and create the end product I'd love to give to the community. Also, this will serve as my inspiration to learn some programming languages I've always wanted to know.

Please provide honest & informative fb here. (Note that I purposely left out all coloring as it was pointless with filters. Actually I had it in there and removed it).

Also, please look through this list and help verify what you can! Every cell was redone by hand so there are bound to be a few mistakes. If you see your name that needs capitalization changes etc, please note that in the list as well.

Thanks & I hope you like it!

I like this one, and can tell it took a lot of time and effort, but for me it's harder to compare items with side mods, and it's a lot less attractive on the eyes.

Maybe if you can color coordinate like the last list? It would be easier to distinguish what is what.

Thanks Trent :)

I'm not going to lie, I like looking at the stats vertically as well. However, managing a list with over 600 items with vert stats was nuts on finding anything. Hopefully we'll get used to it. Filters make it all worthwhile though and I'm hoping I can learn ASP.net 4.0 w/i 6 months and have something else as well ;)

I really like it. ISO something like this for HC.

This really shouldnt take too long to get used to, it's like excel with filters on, everyone should be familiar.

Good work.

hey Nick, your list is really awesome. way to use Excel.

Only recommendation is perhaps having both the google docs and in thread. I have a fast connection
and it loads rathar quickly but still takes time. So might be worse for others.

But thats not really an improvement are anything just has to do with internet speed and so on.

Great job btw. :)

I hate it. And by association, I find I've come to hate you. *spits on Nick in disdain*

Kidding. Nice job. If the damned SS actually worked properly (probably a browser issue on my side), it'd be a vast improvement.

Great job, Nick! <3

List looks incredible, awesome work Nick.
Incredible easy to find items.
Organized by username is sick.

One of the Hylianhero's is missing a capital h at the start tho :P

If I were to make one suggestion it would be to add categories such as simply Charms, armors, heal charms, weapons So people can more easily compare the weapons of different classes.
I wouldnt use it but I would imagine some would.
