why were you level 53 fighting a level 3 monster?

edit: assuming you meant lvl 53 monster, it's possible to get level 40 drops @ lvl 49. 9 levels is the number. if you're in catas, i've seen evil presences drop items 8 levels less than the driver's level


edit 2: this is why most people well @ lvl 64, cuz you can have level 55 drops occur

thought items that were 10 lvls below the monster were possible.

so lvl 50 monster can drop lvl 40 items ?

umm...

It has always been that level 40 requirement items start dropping from regular mobs at level 50...
