OK, so here is my gear for both climbs from lvl 54-71 (used same gear for lvl 54 but not cluttering the thread with lower gear for the 1 level)
Both climbs were done completely in a maze group from level 54 to level 71

The STR build climb did end up having about 60 evil presence mobs killed while the other climb only had about 25 total evil presence mobs killed.

Mystical ultimanium dagger
Level Req: 55
Damage: 225 to 394
+192% Enhanced Effect
+2 Mana Regen
+1% Block

Mystical spiderthread robe
Level Req: 55
Defense: 0 to 21
+55 Strength
+2 Magic Luck
+1% Mind Numb

Rare ice XI
Level Req: 40
Spell Damage: 60 to 72
Mana Cost: 105
+43 Strength
+1 to 3 Life per Kill

STRENGTH Build with 70dex (strength was between 190-205)
STR 190-205
DEX 70
INT 15
VIT 65

Average damage overall was 727.29 per hit
Average damage TAKEN was 96.85 per hit

STR+20ish/DEX (dex was 120-125 and strength was between 140-150)
STR 140-150
DEX 120-125
INT 15
VIT 65

Average damage overall was 682.72 per hit
Average damage TAKEN was 95.94 per hit

Both runs had between 2.5m-3m damage given and about 100k damage taken. I have screeenshots of the entire run for both climbs between 54-71 if anyone wants proof.

Adding 50 more dex really had no major impact on the damage that was taken by the mobs with over 1000 hits taken per climb.

Maximum single hit with 70 DEX and rest into STR was for 2202 damage and the lowest max was 2000 damage
Maximum single hit with 125 DEX and rest into STR was for 2220 damage and the lowest max was for 2074 damage

Low end hits with 70 DEX averaged about 420 damage per hit (ranging 393-453 per level)
Low end hits with 120-125 DEX averaged about 330 damage per hit (ranging 231-363 per level)

Obviously, these results are not perfect and are only to give an idea of an approximate real world test between 2 different builds. There is always many factors involved which will alter the results a bit, but for all intents and purposes, this is fairly accurate each climb. Both have similar top-end critical damage but the dex build has about 90 less damage per hit on the low end

Anyhow, hope this helps anyone interested and hopefully, more people will also post some results.

yeah, unfortunately, you can't tell much from an N of 1.

would be neat to see you do something in between those dex values and see if it's better than the 70 or worse, like 100 or so

Ok so that kinda proves str is better for daggers but you still iso comparisons of other weapons.

daggers/axes str is better perfect avg damage.

staffs/swords/clubs have Much Much higher crits.

I will attempt 3-4 climbs on my pally and record the results using swords, changing up the amount of dex/str used.

Who cares about dex in maze? The only time I'd worry overly much about dex in maze is if you're a front-runner wearing a heavy armor, and are merely there to tank, which is when dex and int become important.

Talk to me about dex in solo. Thanks. :)

all weapons have same AVG dmg so it doesnt change anything
the difference is that for example for swords you will have higher crits and lower crits but the average will still be the same as for crits done by axes/other types

Out of 48 MQs with aproximately 35 being done completely SOLO in arena, I've personally decided that 70 DEX is all that is needed. As a matter of fact, I have a melee weller that only uses 80 DEX and has a 90%+ success rate.

Now what were you saying about DEX out of maze?? ;)

edit: the melee weller has done at least 500 wells and the highest hit taken to date has been about 1000dmg with a heavy weapon. Worst damage always comes from casters for him (only 20 int). Crits due to dex are meaningless to him.

Is there a plan to test more weapons?
