Okay... well read alot of posts... very interesting (note... still working)... kinda feeling the loss of the cookie caster builds... ahh no biggy really.

I think it is time for basics
... Cata when there is a group
... Arena when there are none
... Re-roll if you are only doing 1MCC, unless you are level 55+ of course
... Well items as you are climbing... compatible level item with character level drops... until it is too hard... then mule them for weller

Doing this builds up your profs... helps you to get to MQ... helps your build later to be more effective.

If you can level from 1 to 40 effectively fast, and then progress downhill from there taking more time to level... then re-think build.
Or Re-roll @ level 40 and run it again... build up your profs faster... alternate your weapons, attack charms based on Ranks etc

Edit... it looks like the time to dust off my sub proficiency idea and implement it for the attack charms now... might reach a good
vote... even though I got a good % of Yes in the last one.

all known facts...

the reroll part is rather not understandable... if you fought ur way up you dont quit on the last few steps!

I only started in June this Year...
I have Rank20 in Sword and only 50 MQ points to my name.
A total of 57 Ranks

up until Rank 10 or 15 Sword... I finally did my first ever MQ...
My gear was shit... I started with 15fg... again my gear was shit... and it hasn't improved much.

I re-rolled my character many times...
I could get to level 30 faster than I could gain the next 5 levels... so I re-rolled
As my profs grew... I could get to level 35 faster than I could gain the next 5 levels... so I re-rolled

This process helped my profs, thus helping my damage, plus gave me the chance to find gear to sell, upgrade and buy upgrade items to get higher up.

Ohh... forgot to mention... everytime I went to upgrade my barbs gear... I tested what I had available by Welling items
The monsters damage/life/defense helped me to figure out what I could improve on... now it will be the same for casters.

From my experience the best items I've found were from climbing normalling.  Suicide welling at level 64 is inefficient and boring.  Climb normally from 1-71 picking up mutes and welling good whites you find at level 64.

You'll make more fg and have more fun.

i do try to climb normally, but its slowed down for me like 50%+... taking lots and lots of fun out of the game cause the progress is just so slow!
i dont have the luxury of having a guild that got shared-item-pools... im basically playing just for myself!

welling worked fine for me just as it was... tier III-tier VI got welled from 10-64 right away, the good stuff got saved and muted in packs @64+ with some success regarding the value of the outcome!

i just lost a main motivation to keep slashing... this way the rich get richer, just because they still CAN do everything at ease and the average ppl have to struggle and wish for the best...
its not like that grabbing nice items in cata was easy - there are always 4 guys trying to snatch the item... relying on that is foolish!

I'm in the same boat as you. Just play cats when they are up & grab all the mutables. Each game rm throw everything you grabbed into mules. Rejoin the cat game rinse and repeat until you have tons of mules filled with mutables. Then when there are no cat games up you can mute & solo. Solo a bit then while re genning (I glyph, suffusense, mute) so one item goes a lot further & takes up more time....

you are speaking to someone who has not only managed to climb to monk, but also reach #5 on the sword ladder by practicing this method, all on a very tight budget. (his other profs are getting up there as well...)

you should pay attention, he does know a thing or two about slashing successfully without much investment.

then again, you could always spend that 2.4k you have on better gear.

its just sad to see that this way ppl get drawn away from the game cause of frustration, instead of the original intense of making it more multiplayer-compatible...
without more ppl you can multiplay...

i just see an average of 200-250 ppl being online together over the day... 20-40 of them just solo, 30-50 are lvl1-10, 10-30 are working on their skills, 30-60 are playing within their guilds...

what remains? right... maybe ~70 ppl that you could play with... if they would be within ur lvl range...

its been like this for months now... ever since the last reset and ever since i returned, the game lost more and more good players...

oh please spare me that... its not like that i dont know who he is or what he has achieved - i gather as much intel on the ppl im talking to as i can...
im quite sure he spend like 20-40k more fg on ls then me and that he was playing ls before i even joined jsp... and he found a thing or two during that time!

making him so different from me, who is still a noob in ls... that his arguements cause nothin but a sad smile on my face!

Try living in Japan & playing when everyone in America / Europe is sleeping. I work in the daytime so when everyone is online I can't play. I go home and there are around 55 hc/sc players online.
The game isn't going to change back. So I'd suggest you just do as I do or quit.

didnt read all but only bad point i can see is that it's senseless to make critical strike and armor pierce work and not power shot, for example

id never quit ls... i love the game too much and i know there is still so much potential...

it just needs balancing, new ways/options and ofc more ppl... they need something thats drawing them to the game...

until that happens im merely taking a break ;)
