"Back when I played often"...My gear wasn't for sale no matter the offer. Fg was never a problem to get(for many of us it still isn't...like for you), so selling something you couldn't replace/upgrade didn't make sense for those of us that wanted good gear.

Now, for many like myself, a good offer will take it(depending on the item). Some items we have, we don't care what the market value is now, we paid what we paid and aren't taking less. Knowing full well that this game is pretty much dead and not coming back even with a "big update", we know we aren't ever going to sell. Since most of us aren't desperate for forum gold, and many of us have virtually no use for it. We would rather let it rot then sell for less than we paid. I understand you are willing to pay what they paid and that is a rarity and I don't know a reasonable explanation why people that quit and have gear won't sell for what they bought for.
