I am sorry but items are just a bit cheaper. Most of our items won't be ever sold untill we get a decent price. Sure you see a lot of threads with items for sale but none will sell when people expect to buy items that worth 5k for 200 fgs.
Keep in mind that simply because you are holding out for higher prices does not mean everyone will. If you browse the trading topics and watch the marketplace, you will see items selling every day for fractions of what they would sell for a year ago.
This isn't speculation, it's something many have observed (including myself)
I also agree with what n1ghtm4r3 said, you can get by on far less gear now due to the changes the game has undergone, so the "need" for high end items has dropped significantly. That and the dwindling player base is going to create a lot of insane items collecting dust because people won't sell them for a loss, and people won't pay the outrageous price tag to get them anymore. Well, most people, some things will still be traded but as a whole, there has been a noticeable decline.
Again, just a few opinions. Don't mind the ramblings of a mad man.
