Less items to drop?

I have been doing a decent amount of solo slashing and it seems to me that when you powercast/strike for the kill on a evil presence that you do not get as many item drops.

Has anyone else noticed this or am I just paranoid/unlucky.


Let me explain further by saying: When I powercast on a EP for the kill I seem to get more tier I/II items vs when I dont use skills and kill I get more items that are around my level.

yeah i have this too , kill fast (with ability) = 0 drop or crap item (like most T1,T2)

maybe it is only illusion

Debated many many times. No clear answer.

Mostly less drops, but its no 100%, when ive found 197ee item I ve had used doublecast twice as I remember.


Some of my guildmates dont use abys on solo climbs when facing eps.
Also we sometimes dont use them in g/o climbs.

From my tests and I tested this a lot this is not true. The simple fact that the monsters die faster is becouse they are weak and they will give bad items or no items anyway. Some of the mobs don't die that fast even with powerstrike or powercast and those are the ones that drop at least items based on their level. Also I saw many evils when I was way to powerful for them and killed them with one click but still droped items with the level it should drop.

"killed them with one click" You mean an Ep? And was that one click a Ability?

I've realized that if the killing blow is by an Ability, the chances of drops are much rarer.

e - Either it be Ep's or not, Imo. all monster that get last hitted by an Ability and die, results are same. Including well mobs.

This is my experience as well. I did test this for about 10 solo climbs and I got about a 30% increase in drops from eps when I did NOT use an ability.

From level 40 to level 71 I killed only EPs as my last phase of the test. It took some days but was fun and yes some EPs die with one click.

on eps, killing them faster = bad drops
on eps, killing them slower = more/better drops

/E: Depends on how hard it is to kill for u, that's why a 3 lvls under u ep NEVER drops anything, and a hard/much life/many hits ep drops like 10 times better :)
