i had almost the same thing happen to me yesterday, internet provider was about to connect my ip telephone so they decided turning off the internet supply was a good thing!
luckily i got out with 1.3k hp

Had my power go out while playing hc. Lost a lot of gear.

Kept on grinding though! Hope you do the same

I have yet to play hardcore for this reason, i dont like the idea of losing all the gear i bust my butt working for, be it bought with fg, welled, or found in cata's or soloing... i might attempt it soon, and just see how far i can get with what i can find... gl on the re-build of your lock and sorry for the loss... ( battery backups sometimes help )

You could always play softcore, where things like power outages, ISP drops, fire & brimstone don't really bother much.
