With the new updates giving mages a "megacrit" melee seems a bit lacking.

for those that don't know
a mega crit is " - Offensive Charms now have a % chance to hit all monsters in catacombs per cast. The % chance is based upon your proficiency and the size of your group (full group = more % chance)"


I think weapon proficiencies should give some extra bonus also.

for example:

double attack method
- weapons now have a % chance to hit twice per attack. The % chance is based upon your proficiency and the size of your group (full group = more % chance)

increased speed method
- weapons now have a % of increased attack speed . The % is based upon your proficiency.

Really like this suggestion. But it would take away from the quickdraw mod.

I think Paul already has something planned for melee, but I could be wrong. I say yes to either idea as it would make catas even more fun :D

The profs add to your EE, and therefore already increases the damage inflicted -- what you are suggesting is a form of double-dipping.

the casters are already double dipping , why not melee

offensive casting in catacombs used to be non existant due to mana restrictions. Melee doesn't have that problem.

It was imbalanced before but now I think the balance between casting and melee is very nice.

Damn Rick, record time on :sniper: the hell out of the suggestion :D

What hes meaning is that caster's already waste cata groups, so why not have an option for melee to be just as effective to speed up the catas even more. We'll see what the next update brings, but I would be suprised if Paul doesn't have plans for this already.
