Loot Roll System!

Ok so for some time now, I've really thought this game was lacking some kind of "loot" system that was better than "Who's the quickest" & "Who got best latency".
I saw another thread concerning the current loot system, and some points in there that went against the current system, is the well known EP situation, where
people simply stop attacking, and start to spam on where items drop. I've come up with a simply suggestion to fix this, which is something most mmorpg systems
already use, and it works wonderfully.

The idea itself, is a simple roll if need system, based on a simple random script doing 1-100, and highest roller wins. We all know it, and for those few who
doesn't, please read on. Below I've added a picture I made, of how it could look, but also for me to easier explain.

Roll system


As you can see on the picture, when an item drop, a set of "dices" will be shown next to the item, the player will "funny enough" click on the dice, NEXT to the
item he/she is interested in, the system will then run a small script that randomly picks a number between 1 & 100. [Example] Say out of 5 players, there are 3 who
roll's on the same item, we will call them player A, B & yea you guessed it, C. All 3 roll on the same item, player A rolls 33, Player B rolls 12
and player C rolls 85, this means player C wins, and the item will automatically be inserted into player C's inventory. If you win, the box where the dices were
will turn GREEN, and if you lose the box will turn RED.

I understand some would be against a system like this (Why I'd never understand), cause after many hours of slashing, they've gain an enourmous index loot
finger, from hard loot training, but let's face it, the current system aint exactly "fair" since not all are just as fast, and not all got equal latency. again this is just an
suggestion, some will hopefully like it, and I'm sure some will be against it. Anyway throw your thoughts on the idea, likes/dislikes if ya will.

this is cool
but then theres the problem of when the item goes in your inventory

the immediate idea would be to say once engage is pressed
but then what happens if you clicked everything and then you don't have enough room

but then it could just be to not let you click more items than you have room for

kinda awesome idea
just needs developments on the finer points

Pretty simple, if you dont have room, 2nd highest roller gets it.. It's a matter of checking yourself.. Also, how often does 5+ items drop where you want em all? :) and EVEN if you roll on them all, chances of you winning them all are very slim. and the game would be just as fast, cause its up to people themselves to click roll quick, say, dices will be up only 2-3 sec after mob death.. So when all mobs are dead, the driver would be able to engage 3seconds after last mob died. This system would without a doubt make it more fair, and I think most people could live with an xtra 3 second wait time between waves :)

I'm glad ya like the idea though, and appreciate your input and concerns.

yes but only for eps or chests all items would be worthless. shoul dhave a pass button or a timer if you dont click on it u pass etc etc.

or have an otpin for an auto roll on items

Why would it be worthless? If you dont need the items, dont click em? if no one clicks, or only "1" clicks, he will get it right away, and you continue like this system wasn't even there anyway. You dont need a Pass button, cause it passes automatically if you dont click ROLL.

I just started LS this season and have managed to snag some decent stuff.
Would be cool if it was only on EP's but still no...
just be quick, keep your actions up, and pay attention.

if you like this idea you probably play WoW... or should.

QQ? Where in this thread do you see me QQ'ing? Did you actually read the topic? It's not a thread made to cry over the current system, it's a thread made to give an idea of a better way to do it, that would be more fair, not to mention an improvement in the game. It's funny you should mention WoW, cause you're exactly like the WoW community, crying when new features/changes are announced for future patches, and eventually will end up love them yourself.

I would've respected your answer more, if you had actually added something constructive as to why this wouldn't work, instead of just, no.

I voted no.

However, I could see how this would be a good suggestion on the EP situations ;)

it's very well thought out and a good suggestion, I just don't think it should be incorporated on all drops.
I think that's what makes it fun, being quick to grab an item. you lose some, you win some. Remembr, it's just a game!

Imo, cata with friends and set up a rotation or rules for drops and kick the ppl that are drop-clicking, problem solved :D

**On a side note, if you feel the need to complain about drop clicking, why not solo? B)

The current system is the most fair way for it to be done.

I don't want some rand wearing half-ass gear who is cating with me because we want to fill a spot get an item simply because of a roll.

Items that drop are meant for anyone to pick up.

If you are so worried about drops. Just establish some type of weird system for drops. EPs/Chests.
