Open carry is stupid, for many reasons.

If anyone wants to attack you it's pretty obvious where your gun is. You also identify yourself as armed making you a higher priority target for anyone wanting to commit a crime. Also you have to be careful not to be disarmed as you chat to someone or are distracted.

The fact that a firearm is needed for people to respect you speaks volumes about what kind of person you are. I'm guessing you got bullied at school.
