The 22-year-old had the extreme treatment after his original nose was infected and left deformed after a traffic accident.
The infection had corroded the cartilage of the nose making it impossible for surgeons to fix.
It left no alternative but to grow a new nose as a replacement.

Doctors at a hospital in Fuzhou, Fujian province placed a skin tissue expander onto Xiaolian's forehead and cut it into the shape of a nose.
They then planted cartilage taken from his ribs to mould the nose.
The surgeons said the new nose is in good shape and the transplant surgery could be performed soon, local media reported

Poor guy? Pretty fortunate to be able to have ea procedure like this done tbh

i think id rather live without the nose than the giant scar on my forehead (which is shaped of a nose)

poor guy in the sense of the situation was horrible, and now he has to live with a nose on his forehead, i'm sure he's happy to have a nose, but i'm sure he isn't thrilled about the whole thing.

He's going to undergo a transplant where the nose will replace his old one.

I dont know how invasive of a surgery it is. It's all basically a superficial growth. Should basically be like removing a growth from your face. It's not active, all the nasal tubules are at the other nose

What's next? Eyes in the back of the head?
