What's the best way to look for a job in 2024?

Let me know if you have any strategies, tips, resources, resume or search ideas?

I currently use linkedin and zip recruiter but not having much success since the applicant pools are like 100+ now

Have a job and be good at it, people will try and scalp you

online applications, wait 3 months for them to deny it or accept it
do the interview wait 3 weeks for them to deny it or accept it.

Way better than back in the day when you could walk into a business and get work that day.

When applying for jobs, pants are always optional.

Stick your thumb out like you're hitchhiking. 60% of the time, it works everytime.

And definitely get in the van that says "Free Candy" on the side.

yes, this should be a given.

A good idea is to send well-written emails to companies that you're interested in with your resume attached. Nothing too fancy, just inquiring if they have open positions and expressing your interest.

A properly formatted resume with the proper keywords in the correct order.

Many companies automated their resumes to weed out bad candidates.
So if you don't format it properly, use the wrong keywords or don't include the right keywords your resume may just get thrown out.

It's no longer about a stack of resumes on the bosses desk. It's a computer that determines if they even see your resume.

If you were never taught how to make a proper resume. There are examples online OR if your state has an employment program, they can give you thousands of keywords and examples.
