Fixed is pretty cool for the street, forces you to get close with every shot.

Quite a hefty pricetag for a camera with fixed length though.

I used the previous model for a day a year or so ago and I admit I was pretty disappointed with the focus system and the menus. Sounds like it's all fixed up now.

Yeah, but I can just get an X-E1 instead and have the option to pick between primes and zooms, which makes it a much more flexible system.

I've been reading about the AF issues they have, but most of these appear to have been resolved with the latest firmware update. I think I'm going to have to go try one out and see how it handles, and compare it to the X-Pro1 as well just to see if the viewfinder is worth the extra £300 on the X-Pro1.

you will just need to force it off, but it will damage the thread so u might struggle to get another filter on
alternatively u could get a fine jewelers saw almost all the way through and just break the last bit, this will need concentration and will take longer

started off as a small suggestion, I certainly ended up highjacking my own thread

People here would probably look at me like I was nuts, lol. Do you just take their picture right where they stand or what?

look for someone going through their daily life/routine (a farmer for example), to me that makes an interresting shot

besides this is only one of the suggestions, and its good to be taken out of our comfort zones

When I took those house photos the other day, I actually snapped a shot of a guy raking through one of the concrete barriers. I ended up deleting it though, I didnt think it was interesting.

i mean, it depends so much on what story it might tell in that circumstance, and in part, it depends on the audience.

i think its really hard to do those type of photo-journalistic shots.
