Lol who the hell would pay for a boost when the season hasn't even started yet.

Someone who wanted a higher MMR so that when the first season starts it will be much easier to get to Rank 1 again I'd imagine.

Is it going to work like that? I figured they'd reset everything but I suppose that makes more sense.

from what I read on their forums they stated that they won't reset MMR because they don't want all the good players to smash all the noobs for 50 games and ruin their fun before they get back to their rightful MMR. In fact, from what I read...there won't even be a 'soft' reset. Which is a good thing.

How would a higher mmr make it easier for them when they are too bad to even get rank one alone in pre season

When someone gets in your face in real life because you're being arrogant and cocky you can respond with "I'm rank 1 in Heroes of the Storm, better back up".
