So chances are 95% of the people on this forum have played and loved one, many, or all of the Super Smash Brothers games. I personally started out as a 64 player, played up through brawl, and then reverted back to melee (and later project m). As many people know, smash is a very in depth game with a plethora of advanced techniques and strategies, and characters employ a lot of theory about playstyle, character matchups, mind games, and unique techs. I think it would be an excellent idea to implement a smash forum to jsp.

In my clan alone, almost half of our members play smash in a semi-serious fashion, and we did not form our guild b/c we play smash - this was discovered after the fact. I believe that implementing a smash forum would quickly become a popular place for smash theory, tutorials, guides, and video sharing. So here is my suggestion, and it is simple:

Create a smash forum, with subforums for SSB 64, SSB Melee, SSB Brawl, and SSB Project M. Each of these subforums could be used to discuss character theory, playstyle, techniques, and mind games, as well as a good place to chat about current players, share smash videos, write guides, and organize online play for project m.

Hope you guys like this idea! Show your support if you do by posting and/or voting above!

This was a great game in it's prime, but I can't see this ever being an actively used forum personally.

I think a topic in the Other Games forum would be more than enough, and this game would not need it's own subforum, let alone the suggested 4.
No from me here, sorry.

"in it's prime" implies that it's not in its prime right now when this is the biggest time for competitive smash ever. Evo 2013 had the most entrants in any smash tournament by a staggering amount (696) and Apex 2014 would have surpassed that number if they didn't end registration as early as it did.

Competitive smash bros., particularly melee and project: m, are the biggest they've ever been right now. I don't know how many people on this site play it, but I can imagine some follow the competitive scene.

He didn't mean that there was a "clan" for smash bros., but that people in his diablo 2 clan all happen to play smash competitively. However, there are many crews in smash, which are just people who all play together and consider themselves a crew. Much like a clan, but less lame.

Smash theory can go on forever and there are dozens of online videos that can be compiled to a forum for reference and to give insight to people interested in the competitive scene. Also, smash is pretty much exploding right now, and it's being recruited into MLG once again. I don't know how popular it would be, but it would be extremely useful to have a smash forum for people to use if interested.

I genuinely don't see a use for this, the forum would not get used all too well.

If you want it added, I would suggest making a thread in Other Games and proving it will be a well used forum. Subforums don't get added without proof of the fact that they would be utilized.

Voted no for this fact.

I may have used some of the wrong terminology. I actually envisioned this as part of the other games section. I thought those were all categories of sorts, and each game in those categories had their own forum, along with possible subforums. What terminology should i have used for this?

You used the correct terminology, but as you will see 'Other Games' is actually a forum in itself. http://forums.d2jsp.org/forum.php?f=208
Try making a topic there for SSB, and see how popular it gets. Actually there is already a topic in the 'Nintendo' subforum now that I look, and you can see how active it is : http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=70068914&f=291
If this became an extremely popular topic, I think njaguar would consider making SSB it's own subforum. In the meantime, it just looks extremely inactive.
