Well I guess I have to explain my reasoning aswell.

I'm guessing your idea is that if 2 posts are made within a timeperiod of less than 4 hours it would be locked. But not all posts within a 4 hour time period are early bumps or back-to-back posts, meaning that topics would get closed even tho they were fine.

This is why we have a mod team, to make sure the rules are being followed. If you see an early bump, use the report button and report it for "Trade: Early Bump", and it will be taken care of

I believe he means that if two posts are made by the same person, in a row, under four hours, it would be detected, as that is almost exactly the definition of an early bump.

yes, that's what i meant, that's why i suggest this
