The point of fg is monopoly of the supply to drive more $$ for the site and site only.
Btw, you forgot to mention there is also another plus of accepting bitcoins: no chargebacks
But of course, if you're on topic with bitcoin, you must know the paypal's stance on bitcoin. They are terrified of the idea, and even slight mention or ANY KIND of connection to bitcoin, while doing business on paypal, will end up BADLY. In the end paypal would froze all d2jsp accounts immediately, the second d2jsp started accepting bitcoins. They go as far as freezing your paypal/*** account if you're selling mining rigs (!) that is real hardware you actually ship.
^ heh why is "paypal" a good word and the auction site owned by the same company not?

Yeah the creation of FG here was a bright idea by d2jsp and served its purpose during the heights of the diablo franchise. A few ASCII characters that can be worth dollars is a very respectable feat and remains viable even today, years after D2 launch. Is a little difficult to speculate on paypal's lastest policy and how they would react in the unique case of d2jsp when so many businesses are already implanting BC methods. If paypal shutsdown all it's clients, it would go broke. There are more financial risks in ending business relationships than in creating them. I agree bitcoin presents a type of competition to paypal and competition is a threat to "monopolies", but there are competitions of all kinds everywhere. Capitalism welcomes competition and open enterprise right? I feel BC it taking such a size that instead of trying to shut it down and censoring it -which would invite a Streisand effect- is best to become educated and find a way to coexist and use BC -side by side- with other currencies to try and grow together in symbiosis. BC is already here, the point is: what can we do to accommodate it and how can we use it to our advantage? Let's think more about solutions and less about problems.
To rephrase the post's topic: how can can BC help d2jsp?

what a fine discussion entry, explained everything why this idea is bad, showed an open mind and general friendliness.
Agreed, let's invite more discussion of ideas and the Socratic method. A plain "no" is an incomplete idea! Let's aim for more.
