I think it would be nice, even if the app was somewhat limited to improve function. As it stands, the site is useable but not too friendly to mobile devices. I would like to quickly check my inbox, bump threads and perouse posts on the fly.

d2jsp works just fine on my iPhone. I'm able to bump threads, post replies to threads and PMs, as well as do general browsing with ease. So I do not think it is needed.

Also, I believe this was suggested and denied/closed in the past.

Aww, that sucks njag already said he wouldn't do it.

Also I know jsp works on the phone as I have done it but i know a mobile app would also greatly increase the functionality.
Craiglist works on android too....the mobile app is still way better on your phone though.

Regardless, it would take time to develop an app. And thinking from a site owner's perspective, he knows the site already has great functionality from a mobile device without an app, so there's no need to spend all the time developing the application when the site works just fine without the app.

Your post was read, several times. My post was a reference to a majority of the users. A good number of the users I have talked to have said that the site works just fine (friends, as well as users posting on "mobile theme" suggestions) on their mobile devices. Regardless, you're entitled to your opinion on how the site works with your own mobile device. But note that my post was a general comment, targeting the d2jsp user base as a whole, not just a reflection of your experience with the site on your mobile device.

My point was merely that in Paul's eyes, he notices the majority of the d2jsp user base having no problem using the site on their mobile device, and so he does not wish to spend time developing an app when he knows people are using the site just fine through their mobile devices. Application development takes time, and Paul is a busy man with probably many other projects.

I do understand what you're saying, certain functionalities of an app would provide an ease of access. But my no vote was cast because I don't believe it is needed due to the aforementioned. In no way do I doubt it's usefulness, but I do not believe it is necessary.

I would say that it would be a good way to help market the website. It would take time to develop. But is it REALLY needed? Apps are generally made to function make a site function better and easier to access. Jsp is already so functionally sound that an app would be pretty useless in the sense of what would it be used to accomplish? What features would you want to use on the app that you can't do via the regular webpage.

Just saying, some people offered to do this for free.

Tbh, it just seems like stubbornness..

And I like how some people thinks its ''ok'' the way it is. This section is exactly to make those little improvements that makes jsp better and better with time. If this has been asked sooo many times, it might be cause some people would like to see this. For the guy who asked if it was needed, no its not. But hey, when you think about it, not a lot of features would be on jsp if that was the only argument. You can briwse jsp, thats for sure, but having to constantly zoom in and out is not really convenient.

Thread with a positive feedback to the demand: http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=62122011&f=258&o=90

Anyway, wont happen.
