So as it is right now we are unable to quote posts which are in closed topics. I don't really see any reason for this, because even though you can't reply anymore it is still sometimes needed to quote a post from an old thread.

The best example I can think of is when trolling this forum I often run into suggestions which have been rejected njaguar himself. Before, I would just find the topic and post Paul's reply directly but now all I can do is link people to that post.



I don't really know what else to say beyond that, except that this would be useful and I can't see any downside to it. Now vote!

This was just recently changed to the way it is. It won't be changed back.

I believe it's too cut down on spam. Say a spam thread is made and gets closed, it doesn't allow someone to quote the last post and start a new thread where that one left off.
