The Martial Arts, Boxing, and Wrestling is really flooded with UFC fanboys that like to flame anything that is not Brazilian-ju-jitsu, and it is kind of really bias in that forum.

UFC is such a popular topic there that the actual Martial Arts, Boxing, and Wrestling threads are few and far apart.

It would be nice to be able to tell one of those UFC flamers(they excessively flame) that they are posting in the wrong forum :-P.

Serious suggestion, should consider it; I also am going to post a thread in the Martial Arts, Boxing, and Wrestling forum for more feedback.

There's many problems with this idea.

If you took the "UFC" posts out of Martial Arts, Boxing, and Wrestling, there would be so little posts left over it wouldn't justify a sub-forum.
Those who flame anything that is not "Brazilian-ju-jitsu" would still post in the martial arts forum because "Brazilian-ju-jitsu" is a martial art and is not the "UFC."
UFC is a brand name and not a sport. The sport is mixed martial arts. That's why it belongs in the martial arts forum.
It would be pointless to have a UFC forum because posts pertaining non-UFC mixed martial arts promotions (Ex: Strikeforce) would technically be considered spam

Overall, this is just a bad suggestion. People are biased and flame in every forum. You just have to deal with it/report it to a mod.

I do like the point you are coming from. I just recently came back to jsp and remembered that the thread was there, I was going to go look around and see what some jsp members were into as far as stuff like this. All I was able to find however was people talking about UFC fights and people betting on UFC. It would be nice to actually have a decent conversation with people who are active in other styles.

@Tacobell - I would have posted today if I thought there was going to be any real feedback but with all the UFC talk I didn't even bother. Sure the posts may be less frequent but it doesn't mean that the forum will die out.
Why can't we have a sub-forum for people to discuss and bet on UFC? Given that all there really is in this forum is UFC I'm sure that part of it would thrive and it would be nice for those who do not just follow UFC to discuss everything else Martial Arts contributes and what not.

Well, you can't let other people chase you out of a forum. Report their spam to a mod and post whatever YOU want.

UFC is not a sport, it's a brand. The sport is mixed martial arts hence it belongs in the martial arts forum.

UFC is actually a MMA tournament/championship, not just a brand name.

I wasnt going to reply to you at first but you posted it twice

its called "ultimate fight championship" , its on tv all of the time and there are even reality shows based on it.

You're quite ignorant.

I won't bother.

The thing is I'm not concerned about UFC spam, I'm concerned about overwhelming UFC posts in general. I didn't bother looking at how much was spam, just noticed that all anyone is talking about is UFC. Let's just pretend real quick there isn't two people arguing on if UFC is a brand or more than that...are we not allowed to create a sub forum based on a brand?

There are no sport sub-forums based on a brand. They are separated by sport.

Ex: the Basketball forum is not called "NBA"

the football forum is not called "NFL"

Furthermore, a "UFC" sub-forum would exclude non-UFC MMA organizations like Strikeforce which is what I said in my first post...

I would like to make this clear.

I am not calling the UFC posts spam, I'm just saying there is so much of it that it deserves its own sub forum topic.

You have a good point here

perhaps a MMA forum?

Also I still cant get over the fact that you cant admit that UFC is and/or was a tournament; It's pretty funny but also kind of sad.

Ultimate Fighting Championship is the brand name of a mixed martial arts promotion. Yes, they have previously hosted tournaments under their brand name. It appears like you're under the impression that UFC is a synonym for MMA. Most people unfamiliar with the sport often confuse the two.

Creating a sub-forum for "mixed martial arts" under an already existing sub-forum labeled "martial arts" is quite redundant, don't you think? :P
