Choose a topic you would like to write on. Be sure it is a topic that has an opinion side that you wish to convince me to believe. For example, writing a persuasive paragraph on the health benefits of smoking would be difficult or writing a paragraph on why I should watch a sunset would also be tough. However, writing a persuasive paragraph on the health benefits of chocolate would be possible. Any topic where you can find, or you may even have, enough information to convince me that your opinion is correct. Sometimes it is easier to choose a controversial topic, but be cautious that you don't choose a topic too large to write about in a paragraph (for example, why we should strengthen our laws for parole violaters).

The paragraph must be a minimum of 10 sentences but the overall judgement will be based on whether you provide enough points and examples to convince me that your topic sentence (opinion) is correct.
