I have posted this in the
Books, Literature, and Stories section as well, and if you decide to post, here or there would be appreciated.
Second PostThe book is great, I am about 150 pages in and plan to finish it, but would appreciate some help on your part.
I have to write an essay based on one of three topics regarding the aspects of the story.
Topic #1:Was Victor Frankenstein a victim? Also, consider these questions:
---Why did frankenstein create the creature?
---At what points, if any, could the scientist have prevented the deaths of his friends?
---Could Victor have been a better "parent" to the creature?
---What, if anything, does Victor's advice to the captain show that Victor has learned?
Use
specific examples from the novel to defend your answers, including direct quotes from the text.
Topic #2:Was the creature evil? Consider these questions:
---Why did the creature kill his victim in each case?
---Did he feel remorse?
---Why did he want a female?
---Why did he head North, at the end?
Use
specific examples from the novel to defend your answers, including direct quotes from the text.
Topic #3:Trace the theme of corruption throughout the book.
---Who is corrupted?
---How?
---What is Mary Shelley saying about our society?
---How is she commenting on the impact of scientific discovery?
Use
specific examples from the novel to defend your answers, including direct quotes from the text.
