if you have photoshop you can adjust the quality you're saving the jpeg as ... if you make it lower around 8 it won't lose as much quality as paint will ... just a thought smile.gif

Well you could:

A. When saving a jpg just lower the quality, instead of having it at 12, put it at 11 or 10, or more depending. It will drop kb a lot and there wont be a difference.

B. If you are using a gif, just lower the optimzed color settings from 256 to maybe 128, depending on the size and how much quality you lose.

hm, maybe that will work on the animated gif i got, it has only 6-8 colours... 256 icon_pointr.gif 16 (8BPP icon_pointr.gif 4BPP)
might give 50% reduction, at best ofc, but without quality loss smile.gif

reduced colour depth 256 icon_pointr.gif 16 resulted in 127 KB icon_pointr.gif 123 KB sad.gif
stripped intro & extro & some repetitions icon_pointr.gif 71.333 bytes

Is the rule 70 kilobyte, or 70 thousand bytes?
71.333/1.024=69.66KB cool.gif

is it possible for someone with photoshop to reduce this?

i did what the guide said twice but lowest i can get (without going to jpg and loosing quality) is 93kb

is there anyway to resize it without loosing the quality?

if not i'll have to get it to jpg or use my old boring sig =/

to gif gave some clear colour loss if you pay close attention and zoom in [33kb]

jpg on 100% quality didnt give any noticable loss, even zooming in 10 times
and looking carefully at lines and other sharp edges, which is usually the drawback on jpg format [37kb]
