Hi guys =)

I've been asked to make a tutorial on digital painting, and so here it is.. at last. I decided to do a still life painting as it's a brilliant exercise for both you and me.

You will need the following for this tutorial:
An apple (any fruit really), or a reference picture.
A Wacom tablet.
Knowledge in Photoshop or Painter etc.
Patience

I hope to see many outcomes =) have fun!

Omg, this looks SO real... I'm trying today to learn from ZERO photoshop, i'd love to make drawings like these.

Guy, you rule! I hope to become asap like you (or maybe like your right hand, just for start :) )

Oh, 1 thing. Is it necessary to do things like these (and other small works) to get a tablet? And how much are they?

Thx in advance, and keep up the good work!

Cheers Panzer =) Takes time and effort but i'm sure you have it in you. A tablet is absolutely necessary for an exercise like this, you won't be able to do it with a mouse >Carpal tunnel alert! I reckon a Wacom Intuos 3 mid size is around 100-150 quid nowadays :)

I picked that particular apple because of it's odd shape, more interesting that way. For the same reason I may have exaggerated the colours a wee bit!

I had Gregory for lunch today, he was right on the edge, bit soft here and there. Freaked my mind.

Fruits don't have a 100% consistent anatomy which is why they vary in shape and colour ;)
