X-2's one that slipped through the cracks for me, never bought it for some reason. All I've heard is that it's pretty easy? Like too easy?
Just like FFX: very easy to beat, very hard / time consuming to complete. Again, you want the International version for the real challenge.
The thing is there's pretty much no story, character depth and the gameplay is more simple than most FFs. It's all about the missions and sidequests.
It's not a bad game, it's just that people where epecting something like FFX. The same thing happened when Nintendo launched Majora's Mask and people expected another Ocarina of Time; it was a sidequest game instead of a deep linear game. This comparison might not be too good because Majora's Mask is an awesome game and eventually became a cult classic amongst Zelda fans while FFX-2 is just an entertaining game, but the idea is the same: a game that many fans hated on their first playthrough because they were expecting the same concept all other games in the franchise had.
