I played lineage a couple of years back, mostly l2gold, which was 45x rates. I was looking for something along the rates 10-15x rates. Any good once out there or are things completely dead? Also a pretty newly opend one would be gr8.

I am in the same boat as you, I was really looking for a C1 server, but I have only found one, and its horrible

Look for an interlude server, they always have the most people, http://l2.hopzone.net/,
interlude was also the best expansion for the lineage 2 game

Sigh, I don't think im going to continue playing on toxicl2, just not much of a fan for gracia final, too much crap going on. Sever had 0 lag, runs great and has a huge population though, ugh hard to find all that. Just wish it was interlude ;(

Guys in the meantime L2 became "truly free", you dont have to pay anything for it anymore...

Just play official! You are also able to level very fast with the "new" mentor system, you will reach up to 400% XP 8without additional paid xp, then it can be even more) and incredible damage with the buffs.

If you are looking for older versions like C1-4 ignore that post :-)
