Okay so the topic is pretty self explanatory in that I am looking for a Territory Domination game very similar to games like "Empire Earth 3" (never played the first two so I dont know if they utilize this system) and "Emperor: Battle for Dune"
For those of you who are either not familiar with either game or this genre, what it basically entails is several empires or dominions or factions (whatever you want to call them) and, at first, a blank or evenly divided slate of a planet or zone. As the game progresses, usually turn based, one faction chooses a zone to either invade or bolster defenses in. if they attack a zone, the game then goes into that zone and you battle via classic RTS rules (with small variations based on the game) until a winner is determined. once the battle is over, the game goes back to the world map and then the contested zone is either given to the winner or left to the defender. what I like about this genre is that every time you go into the zone, the land is the same because its the same zone...but you have to rebuild based your base and whatever else every time (except in EE3 where you get armies, militia, and a couple buildings going into the fight) Before everyone says "TOTAL WAR, YO! HEY HEY TOTAL WAR NO I SAID IT FIRST!!" I dont like Total War. Its not a bad game, but its soo much like Risk and not enough RTS elements. I want buildings and micro managing armies, not just going into a zone to fight.
I dont have much to offer, but if somebody can dig up a solid TDRTS that I enjoy (first come first served, since I will be posting this in several subforums for a broader audience) I will give you my 30 FG
I am also looking for other solid just plain RTS games as well, so if no TDRTS comes out, and I enjoy an RTS, I will give 10fg per solid RTS
I own the following games
Starcraft (I, II, and BW)
Warcraft (I, II, III, FT, and BtDP)
EE3 (I know about I and II, so they wont count if you list them)
Dune (I, II, 2000, and Emperor)
So if youre up to the challenge, I would love to hear some suggestions
