Ok I've read this and it did make sense, however this completely fails to answer what I've asked. If I as a gold player beat multiple master teams, while sustaining a 80-100% win ratio against legitimate people in my bracket, why am i unable to rank up? As informative and interesting as it is, it still doesn't explain why beating plat players whenever I'm fortunate enough to play them, and master players on occasions doesn't rank me up to at least plat. If you could explain this in your own words instead of citing something that's not really relevant, I would greatly appreciate it.
BTW, I know I'm terrible at this game. I'm a fps guy and I'm trying my best to learn RTS games. It just sucks when I feel like I should be in plat, and it's either kids in gold or kids in masters and nothing in between. My MMR should not be high enough to be placing me against high diamonds/plats (in 2v2) who are masters in 1v1. Once again just confused as to why i haven't hit plat, and wondering if anyone out there has any constructive criticism as to why I'm facing this unfortunate roadblock.
ONE AGAIN, just to clarify. I know I'm bad, I don't think I stand up to the majority of people on jsp. I'm just wondering why it's so fucking hard for me to get into plat with a good win ratio, 60 points above the next person and a win against 2 master kids (in 1v1). Just seems like a rank up there would be fitting lol.
Leagues are a front. They are an approximation of your MMR (which is a modified Elo system). Your League exists only to give a generalized concept of the MMR you have attained; it does not reflect your actual level of play.
You have not yet ranked up because Blizzard has not figured out where to place you yet. As your MMR is apparently volatile and your league is far off (shown by your high win rate), Blizzard needs to figure out where to place you before it places you--aka it needs to do massive re-calibration of your Elo.
In the same vein, everyone else's league is a front as well. A masters player on a 50 game losing streak will most likely retain his masters league, even though his MMR has dipped to plat/gold levels. The league will not change until his win/loss normalizes and Blizzard determines which league he now belongs in. Only after that process will he gain his new league.
tl;dr: leagues mean dick all don't fucking worry about them don't bitch about promotions just play the damn game and everything will work itself out.
