So after the buff, obviously destro wont be the best anymore
What u guys think will be the best lock spec pve / pvp wise ?

for those that dont know :
Warlock (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator)

Affliction
Agony damage has been increased by 20%.
Unstable Affliction damage has been increased by 20%.
Demonology
Shadow Bolt damage has been increased by 25%.
Soul Fire damage has been increased by 25%.
Touch of Chaos' damage has been increased by 25%.
Destruction
Chaos Bolt damage has been increased by 8%.
Conflagrate damage has been increased by 8%.
Immolate damage has been increased by 8%.
Incinerate damage has been increased by 8%.
Rain of Fire damage has been reduced by 60% and no longer generates Burning Embers.
Shadowburn damage has been increased by 8%.
Talents
Demonbolt's (Demonology) damage has been increased by 10%.
Soulburn: Haunt (Affliction) now extends up to 130% of its normal duration when refreshed, similar to periodic effects.

At least they're looking at our damage.

I think it's an overall ~7% damage buff to demo - which puts us mid pack there.

Affliction still has some mechanical shortcomings (imo) so I haven't tinkered with that spec yet.

For destro - RoF is going to be taken off my bars.

I have to say, I'm annoyed that I switched to destro for this expansion and now that they nerfed RoF I probably won't play it, the % damage increase isn't enough to compensate for the lack of ember generation. Now that just means even more mindless incinerate spam.

I hope affliction is decent now, I'll have to give it a try

As for Demo, it wasn't that far behind before, so I will be playing this spec now for sure.

Some things are not implemented yet (like the destro 8% flat buffs), but the one nerf is... (RoF being neutered).

That's really stupid that they would list them under the hotfixes before they were actually implemented, do you know if the demo buffs have been?

Kind of, not really. There's no more stacking your procs/buffs then applying dots, it just affects them when you get them, so you just throw on dots haunt and drain soul, pretty boring now and it doesn't do good damage.



The affliction buff just won't be enough, Demo was competing with destro before this so it will be a lot better now, plus destro kind of got a slight nerf from no longer generating embers from RoF but I'm not sure honestly, I have to do more testing. I too am getting kind of tired of destro but I have to get better at demo, been awhile.
