Tested 8 consecutive runs. Single Target the Elites on the first 3 steps to get higher Gold Drops (Trinket) Drops are based off of mob level/type and have roughly a 5min CD.
You get roughly 2 drops per run depending how long you take.

Results below.

Run 2: (1 Gold Drops) Loot 144g, 8 Treasure Boxes, 3 Stacks Cloth
Run 3: (2 Gold Drops) Loot,159g, 7 Treasure Boxes, 5 Stacks Cloth
Run 4: (2 Gold Drops) Loot, 283g, 5 Treasure Boxes, 2 Stacks Cloth
Run 5: (2 Gold Drops) Loot, 117g, 6 Treasure Boxes, 3 Stacks Cloth
Run 6: (2 Gold Drops) Loot, 93g, 3 Treasure Boxes, 1 Stack Cloth
Run 7: (2 Gold Drops) Loot, 128g, 5 Treasure Boxes, 2 Stacks Cloth, 1 Lockbox
Run 8: (2 Gold Drops) Loot, 538g, 0 Treasure Boxes, 1 Stack of Cloth

Totaling: Loot: 1642g, 42 Treasure Boxes, 22 Stacks of Cloth Totaling: 2200g, 2 Lockboxes, 30-40 Volatiles.

Grand Total: 3842g
Time Spent: 45 Mins.

I really like this. I haven't played WoW for awhile, but I've always appreciated farming for raw gold. Since dealing with the Auction House depends on other people whereas this method relies solely on RNG, which is being quite generous IMO.

My question to you is: Is this the best zone? You obviously can round up ~4k gold an hour and in a days time period that's ~100k gold. But I can't help but wonder if there is a better zone. The mobs you've chose are elites with high health pools but for the sake of the daily quest (where you shoot these mobs from a catapult) the respawn rate is incredibly high.

The Mine in Twilight Highlands (with the remote to TP you the start).
Have you tested any areas in Pandaria?


Though I fear with increased density and mob level specific classes may be omitted simply because they lack aoe/durability. I'm not trying to nitpick but I am playing devils advocate a bit to find out which zone is the best for when I return to WoW

Great guide though. Such an easy method of farming should be more well known (if it already isn't).

90% of the mobs in this area are non-elite. Only 1 per group is elite. I like to squish with Howing Blast/Decay and run to next group. By the time I am done and refreshed from selling everything the spawns are back up. 1g repairs per run on avg.
The Trinkets work great together with the potions. Example: A dry run with no trinkets/pots = 20g if you're lucky. With pots you average about 40-70g. So you can see the trinkets boost up quite a bit. Every run you get atleast 2 gold loots guaranteed 40-50g (Sometimes More)

You could use it in a MoP zone but the potion goes from being 60min Buffs to 20 Min Buffs. Plus a cost of 40-80g per pot unless you take the time to farm your herbs. So I like using the 60mins.
Killing Rares in Vale using this method is a great way to make cash. You also have a chance @ getting the Vault Keys and SkyShards. I already farmed them quite a bit and have my Alani Mount.
But it's lots of flying/longer kills.

Frogs / Berzerkers on the timeless Isle are great as well if you are trying to make gold/earn coins, but the downfall is sometimes mass people are farming them.
So then you get very few kills. Or people aggro mass frogs or trash to you. And those buffs suck and = instant death once over the limit.
Being a high lvl zone you may take a big loss in stats removing 2 trinkets. I always notice a big difference when I have mine off. So that's why I picked mobs that take 1-2hit kills.


I picked this area mainly because I like fast kills where I can run thru and repeat with no fears/stuns/instance locks/competition and it's amazing for cloth/greens (I do not have the cloth bonus either)
The epics/patterns sell nicely on the AH because there is no competition. And being outdoors I can summon my Yak right away. A mailbox is 10 seconds away just NW of the area (where you buy the sands of time @. )

This method will work great in any area that you can do mass AOE kills with fast respawn rates using high lvl mobs.
I looted almost 4k gold lastnight just in gold loot while writing this guide. Not counting the AH/Vendor Sales.

So if you do test this out, I would pick an area with fast respawns, atleast 1 high lvl elite in group, and access to vendor/mailbox.
Keep in mind the trinkets are on a timer, so pick a mob that drops bonus gear as well so you can benefit extras while waiting.

Just Remember: "ANYONE can loot your gold drops" so choose an area wisley!



The Trinkets drop from the following mobs (I had quite a few pm's asking)

[Golden Fleece]- Drops off of the Rare Spawn "Omnis Grinlok" Dread Wastes (19% Drop Rate)
[Golden Moss] - Drops off of the Rare Spawn "Rock Moss" Cavern of Lost Spirits on the Timeless Isle. (3% Drop Rate)

Did another test run today on the same mobs.
