can anyone explain why exactly items like this are so rare, in comparison to other items? I understand that getting both +3 to jav skill mods is tough, but is it just the fact that getting them all on the same jav is uncommon, or does the game make the odds for jewelers and deflecting being put together on the same item lower?

i know that was worded strangely... lol

what I'm asking is:
is "of deflecting" mod less common than other mods?
is "jewelers" and "of deflecting" being put together less common than* x and y being put together, ignoring the question above? if so, is this because blizzard realized how fucking good jmods and 6/40's are?

any link to info on this stuff?

You also have to take into consideration that you are looking for 2 specific affixes to the magic item out of however many with chances to hit each affix or only a prefix/suffix. So you're looking at, when a magic monarch drops, it has a chance of having a prefix (any random one), a chance at a suffix (any random one), and a chance at both (2 randoms). I'm not sure on the spawn ratios but if you look into arreat summit, Deflecting is the highest suffix of it's type as is Jeweler's for prefixes. I'd almost guarantee that those are weighted a lot less than the lower versions (including the lower versions of every other mod).

Then, as mentioned above, not everyone picks up magic items because some people don't understand that magic items can be valuable.

odds of a magic monarch ilvl 99 dropping as a jmod are
1:15322

odds of a magic javelin ilvl 99 dropping as a 6/40 are
1:688224

Best ilvl's for 6/40's:
Maiden: 71
Ceremonial: 77
Matriarchal: 80

Best ilvl for jmod:
Jmod: 77 or 78

for magic items, there are thousands and thousands of preffixes and suffixes combination. These items req perfect stats in both preffix and suffix (I believe magic items only have 25% of getting both).
For that reason, the % of finding these items are extremely low.
