I've been thinking about going back and playing GW2, I was really hard into it when it first came out.
Has there been any big changes, has it died, etc?
I don't remember it as well, it's been a while.

Just curious on what's become of it and if it's worth getting back into. lmk. (:
Also, if anyone has any tips, that'd be cool too.

i recently came back into it, and it feels almost the same - doesn't feel dead in my opinion. there were no "Living Stories" before i stopped playing, and it seems pretty interesting. it's pretty much world events that they make up, and you get various rewards from completing it. i've been more heavily involved in WvW now, and tbh it seems a lot funner now for some reason. commanders help to make it organized and make WvW more effective, and there are tons of commanders now due to the value of gold dropping. joining a guild and getting teamspeak to listen to the commanders really made everything better for me personally. if you invested in gems before you quit, you probably have gained a huge chunk of gold and should look at it. PvE maps are not nearly as lively as they were during the first few months, but you can find decent groups farming events/champions in almost any map. whether it's worth it or not to play again is completely based on preference and opinion. if you are looking for a game for pure profit, there are other ways to make better profit. if you're looking for some type of fun or competition, it can be good for that. gold is 15x cheaper than it was now compared to when i was playing hardcore, so it's pretty easy to get good gear. there are monthly/daily rewards which can encourage you to play often, and they give you laurels for completing them. laurels can be spent for new ascended gear, or it can be obtained in fractals (i've never tried it personally). i just spent about 150g making my new character look how i wanted it to look, but full exotic gear + accessories + weapons is about 40g total now, or about 1k fg worth - much cheaper than it used to be (but people have been banned for buying gold/sending large amounts, and sometimes it was a mistake. my guild leader was apparently banned ~5 times for sending people gold to get people to transfer servers, which costs about 60g per person at the current gem price)

tl/dr: just try it again yourself and see if it's right for you now. i personally like it.

Also thought about getting back into it but meh, haven't played since December and I am anal about not being able to get certain achievements from things that are no longer obtainable.

Hmm, thank you. (:
I'm pretty sure I sold all my gear and transferred it into fg when I had left, so I'd be having to buy gold and start over fresh.
has the game become purely pvp oriented?

I've had rift since it came out, the only game I'd ever "been hacked" on and lost gold.
I got my gold back and quit.

Also played and decided I didn't like SW:TOR.

My friends were the ones who told me to get the game with them, so I did, and then they all quit and I was the one who kept playing,
so then after they all quit that was the reason I lost most of my interest in the game and decided to move back into mobas.
