good for bayern, good for bundesliga imo. great to see that at least 3 teams can afford to keep their top players. isn't easy to compete against the ridiculous wages offered by spanish and english debt and oil teams...

exactly, that's the 3 i meant.

you're right - kagawa might leave soon although i think they could afford to offer him a better contract - but they don't have to since they bought reus.
and although kagawa is an outstanding player i think they rather sell him now than waiting till his contract expires and see him unhappy for a whole season.

still, if you consider their signing of reus, and their ability to keep key players like götze...
i think they at least have the potential to compete against european competition - and yes, we all are aware that they failed to do so this season!

about schalke: they managed to extend farfan's contract and huntelaar - i don't think he will leave schalke soon.
sure, his contract expires in 2013 but it looks like he feels quite comfortable there and incoming offers would have to be really good for schalke to sell him.
he's already 28 and the bigger teams might refrain from signing him because he didn't manage to perform at real and milan...

sure, they're not even close to united or barcelona but you have to keep in mind that clubs like this wouldn't even be allowed to compete in bundesliga due to their rotten finances...
we'll see what happens - but those three are the ones who have the best shot of competing on a decent level - and i have nothing against gladbach but you know they will have a hard time in europe without reus, dante and neustädter - just like mainz without schürrle, holtby and fuchs this season...

yep that's right. and gladbach plays cl quali while mainz embarrassed themselves in el quali.
my point was it'll be hard to replace those quality players and play successfully right from the beginning - even if they spend the money they'll still have to become a team...
