Refs have made some crucial calls in the Patriots favor that I, personally, think were terrible officiating decisions. But officiating inconsistencies are not unique to the Patriots. The only unique thing is how visible things are when they happen to the Patriots. If the Bears had happened to get the benefit of a bunch of missed calls this year, no one would even bother to check.
What he said 16-18mins video is the real story. Refs are humans, they have biases. The owners are billionaires, they want more money. These biases have existed in all sports and will continue to exist. Right now, Tom Brady just happens to be the Michael Jordan of the NFL so the Pats happen to be on the right side of these systematic biases. But it is not something unique. Everyone who has been a fan of sports for awhile knows that the business aspect trumps competitive fairness.

And boom. I honestly wonder if people just don't know anything about the game they claim to watch, or what? Jacksonville got hosed a few times. The Jack play would/should have been a TD. On a first look it did appear that Lewis was down, but it doesn't matter. Standard protocol is to let the down play out to ensure that the correct outcome happens and then review it. Should have been a TD. The penalties called at the end vs Jacksonville were all penalties that should have been called, but Jacksonville didn't get the same treatment on their final drive of the game. There's no guarantee Bortles would have finished it out given the chance, but like NE, he should have at least been given the chance when on two different occasions his players were being fucking manhandled.
Early on in the game when Jacksonville was up there was a few blatant penalties against NE that went uncalled, but of course no one wants to talk about those. Refs make mistakes, they miss shit, and on occasions, they do screw over a team that would have had a better chance at winning a game. Still not guaranteed ofc. All Brady would have needed was a FG at the end to tie it up if Jacksonville had gotten that other TD, and he had plenty of time to do that. Could go either way, but Jacksonville did get screwed hard 3 separate times and that sucks, but it's just bad officiating, not collusion.
