The Raiders have been seeking a new stadium in Oakland for some time. However, it doesn't look like they're any closer to realizing that goal today than they were 10 years ago.

Raiders owner Mark Davis said Tuesday from the Spring League Meeting in a conversation with NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport that the team can pony up $400 million toward a new stadium, but "we need help." The team's current home, O.co Coliseum, has been around since 1966, and is one of the oldest facilities in the NFL. Will the City of Oakland help the Raiders?

"I would probably say (negotiations are in) the 11th hour," Davis said. "It's always the 11th hour because we've been waiting a long time, been waiting a long time on this project. If it doesn't happen, then we have to start looking at the other options. ... We want to stay in Oakland. We want to get something done."

But whether the Raiders will get something done remains to be seen. Davis said in March that one of those "options" could be moving back to Los Angeles, where the team played from 1982 to 1994. Davis isn't sure where the rest of the funds will come from, but "it has to come (from) somewhere, whether it's private, public -- somewhere."

The Raiders' current deal with O.co Coliseum runs through the end of this season. What happens after that remains to be seen.

If the Golden State Warriors can build a new arena I don't see why the Raiders, a team that makes a lot more money in revenue, can't build a new stadium. The tax payers in Oakland can help them pay the rest. The team is going to take care of a big portion of the cost.

We've been in the "11th hour" for what, 4, 5 years now?

The Minnesota Vikings should give you some encouragement. There was plenty of talk about them relocating since about 2000 and they were able to strike a new stadium deal and were awarded the Super Bowl in 2018 yesterday. If the Raiders can build a new stadium they'll no doubt land a Super Bowl in the future.

I don't care where the SB is, I care who plays in it.

Texans versus Packers in 2017. First team to play a Super Bowl inside their own stadium. :santa:

Don't care where they go. I'll still be a Raiders fan.

But for people who live in Oakland and around there, I can see how it could impact them a bit.

But I live in Ohio. I became a Raiders fan when I was like 10 watching them play on TV. Nobody in my family really followed Football so I wasn't pushed to root for the hometown team.
