Why wouldn't you use heat? Stretches for strengthening, heat to bring the blood flow to heal, ice afterwards to slow the swelling.

If you have swelling or inflamed joints, blood will only cause more pain. Icing will restrict the blood flow, reducing the pain. If you're cramping, then use heat.

I used a heating pad twice on my back before surgery and it felt like a balloon was inflated.

I mean he's the one with the serious back issue so I wouldn't question him as he's had the on-going issue for years, but I used the heating pad on low for like an hour and started icing now.
I was diagnosed with Scoliosis as a kid but I haven't had it checked out in years, it was only a slight curve which makes my left side of the back sit higher than my right.
Probably compressed my spine when I was sitting in a bad position on the way back from Hershey Park last night.

Do you know anyone with an inversion table?

That's just a table where you hang upside down with boots /w hooks on them yeah? Well, a little bit like that I guess after googling lol
I don't think I do but I am about to go grab the tennis ball from my dog and roll soon if it's still tender by tonight

Yeah, it helps decompress the spine.

Do you have medical insurance? When I was working, my medical covered 3 yearly massages for the cost of the copay, $20. If not, ice for an hour, most people will say 15-20 minutes, but that isn't long enough. I also take 4× 200mg Advil and 2× 500mg Tylenol.

Right now I don't but I stopped smoking weed so I could get a better job that will offer me benefits, getting older now so I should pay more attention to my health since I got x'D off my Dad's full government coverage when I turned 26 (28 now).
I don't ever recall having pain in my back though outside of squating over 300 lbs, swelling should go down and I don't expect it to be an issue after today but if it is I will probably be going to get it checked out

Yes but most jobs that are backed by the union will require a drug test.
And I doubt you smoked anywhere near how much I was smoking on a regular basis.
I was smoking a half like every 2-3 days

I had that while working at the mill, doesn't mean it was a great job. Washington was in the works for a new law that prohibits employers from firing an employee for having THC in their system, and that they could only be fired if they worked while being high.
