To be honest, plenty of teams did a very nice job on him last year limiting him to low yards/catches. There are smarter coaching units who know what the best chance to shut down/limit Johnson is - but as they say football is nothing but a game of chess. Can Stafford and Co. find a way to win with Johnson being taken out of the game? We will see the answer in the next few years
Something all lions fans need to realize is this: we had no RBs last year and our secondary was very weak so we were involved in A LOT of shootouts, and we were forced to pass in running situations because our RBs couldnt get it done.
This definetely did inflate Stafford's stats -- However, it is good to know that when the time comes to pass we know he can get it done. I really hope we are more of a balanced team so we can be more dangerous, in the passing game as well as the running game
All Lions fans should be happy if we get a 4,000 yard/35 TD+ season out of Stafford, which is what I expect him to do and I wouldnt be surprised if he only has around 3,700

The only way to get rid of coordinators is to miss the playoffs and at the time the players were pointing fingers at each other, questioning the schemes on both offense AND defense, some of the positional coaches needed to go and I still don't like Bobby Quinn, we were looking like absolute shit vs some of the worst teams, the O-line was putrid which caused us to have the 32nd ranked run offense, the defense AND offense was having miscommunications EVERY game(mostly defense), we lost like 4 in a row and looked to be headed for a second half collapse again.
So absolutely yes it was time for a change.
Not a soul in the world gave us a chance in the playoffs or to even make the playoffs based on that Washington game and we looked like we defeated vs N.O.
