First and foremost, atta boy on Barr > Clowney.  :)  And I agree, I think both need to go back for a year but I have a feeling one will come out.

Sweet, now I know I can bet big on the Cardinals vs your guys.

It's not that I'm coming around, it's that I didn't and don't think he should declare.

I was looking for secondary players for you guys too but none of them were better value picks compared to the players that you took.  Got to go value and need, not just need.

Clowney is overrated.  I've said it for awhile now.  He's good don't get me wrong, but he's got a lot of work to do, mostly in his maturity imo.

Hundley or Mariota and why not?  I can sit here and say I don't believe the Raiders' colors are black and silver but that doesn't make it true lol.

Explain to me why not?  Why wouldn't you take not only the best player available but a player who is versatile and fills a need?

Yes he shouldn't declare in a draft where he would go top 5 lock

Clowney will jump out of the building during the workouts at the Combine and that will bring his stock back up. I just think Barr is by far the better ALL around player with more upside in the long run.

If this is how the order pans out, along with both Hundley and Mariota declaring, you still wouldn't have a QB worth taking at that spot because one of the 3 would go to Jax, one to TB and one to Minny so I'd still say go with a better quality player rather than reaching for a position, especially with how deep this draft is with QB.

EDIT:

There is a reason redshirt sophomores don't declare. Luck was GUARANTEED not top 5 but the #1 overall spot and he went back to school.

Agreed but Barr is the best player in this draft still imo.

linebacker isn't a need for the panthers

they've got
1. one of the top young mlbs (kuechly)
2. a well above average olb (thomas davis) who can play both the sam and the will well
3. they really only need another olb to play 2 downs (chase blackburn is filling that role well) and they have a young guy waiting in the wings (aj klein), who the coaching staff is really high on

the panthers would almost certainly be looking at ot, wr, cb, and probably te/s/og before they'd even consider a lb

a top 5 pick doesn't mean shit in the league. It doesn't prove you can play in the NFL. It's not College anymore and the kid isn't even 20 years old.

I understand the kid is good and very talented, but the Offense he plays on is a machine. Yes he's the QB for it, but a large amount of his throws, he's hitting guys running wide open in space. Wide open in space because Defenses have no clue what the hell is happening. It wont even be a tiny bit similar to what he sees in the NFL. He wont have the advantage of playing with loaded talent in College anymore.
