I heard the texans were planning on trying out Mike Sims-Walker on Wednesday... not to big of news but something to bump the thread... does this show that the team doesnt have faith in the young WR or they just want some more experience?

It's going to be a big training camp and pre-season. Pretty much 3 to 6 on the depth chart at WR is up for grabs - assuming Kubiak goes with 6 WRs and one less TE. I don't mind if they want to take a look at an experienced guy. I'm confident Keshawn Martin and DeVier Posey will make the team. Dwight Jones and Lestar Jean would seem to be the two that are fighting for the last spot on the team. The one who doesn't will probably be on the practice squad if no other team claims them. It's looking doubtful for guys like Jeff Mael and Trindon Holliday unless they shine on special teams.

I agree with Ian Rapoport from the NFL Network

On top of that, I would say that Houston has the big four if Owen Daniels is producing like his back-to-back pro bowl years in 2007 and 2008. That ACL injury he had midway in 2009, while on his way to a third big year, really ruined his 2010 season and I felt he was showing flashes of brilliance in 2011. I expect him to be a force in 2012 especially in the red zone without Joel Dreessen taking away some TDs.

Give the Texans' trio some love

Not many teams have a quarterback who has led the league in passing, a running back who led the league in rushing and a receiver who led the league in receiving yards. One would think such a team would be swamped with publicity, but the Houston Texans do, and they aren't. The league's best triplets are under-the-radar stars quarterback Matt Schaub, running back Arian Foster and receiver Andre Johnson. Schaub rose to prominence by passing for 4,770 yards in 2009; Foster did his work in 2010, with 1,616 rushing yards, and Johnson topped his peers in 2008 and 2009. The Texans are rebuilding their defense, but there's a reason they are a trendy Super Bowl pick. If healthy, there is no better trio.

I noticed the Texans signed former Dallas cornerback Alan Ball. He played for Wade Phillips in Dallas before so that's probably the main reason Houston picked him up. He was pretty good on special teams "a gunner who makes tackles" but I really hope we don't suffer a lot of injuries where he's playing a lot on defense. His pass coverage if very iffy at best.

It's time for second-year players Brandon Harris and Roc Carmichael to step up and solidify the depth at cornerback. We also have Brice McCain and Sherrick McManis. So I think we'll be fine if Kareem Jackson or Johnathan Joseph get hurt, but it's important for Joseph to anchor the defensive backfield as the young guys improve. I expect another pro bowl season for J-Jo. He's a top three CB in the AFC.

I think we signed Justin Forsett too, RB, played with Seattle I'm sure.
