It doesnt make you dumb to not accept money

when the end result of accepting that money is ultimately removing all of our freedoms and destorying the planet due to selfishness for money.

What is dumber? Not taking money, or destroying the human race?

My father always said, there is some money you don’t take.

They've been taking that money for many years now. As have the NFL and many other leagues and corporations. Should they give it all back as reparations for their complicity?

No ones even asking that, but a situation has arising that CHINA started by attempting to interject their abhorrent moral standard and disgraceful view of free speech into US, not the other way around. US companies when faced with this should stand their ground to the ideals worth more than money.

As I said, this has been happening for many years now. What is happening is nothing new, it's only new to you. If you think The NBA and leaders of other corporations haven't been playing to these rules ever since they started doing business with China, you are clueless. It was just kept from public discourse.

What ideals? Do you know how USA makes a lot of its money? Do you know some of the abhorrent things USA are doing on a daily basis?

Money....

They're not dumb, they want the bag.

China has WAY more people that watch the NBA than the entire U.S. population total.

I don’t understand this mentality at all, they both make dummy amounts of money from their contracts to multiple endorsement deals in the USA. They literally HAVE the bag, how much more do you need to capitulate to a foreign communist government???

Ok so Like is everyone everywhere interpreting events so crazy opposite or differently right now? Like to me it seems like the arching theme is that the Silver has taken a stance supporting Moreys speech no? I know some players and coaches rather not talk cuz they don’t know wtf they talking bout or instructed by some agent not to but seems like Silver been pretty clear.

Side note:

Omfg now this guy is going to the “this been happening and the US does shitty things too” argument to defend this? Really? Because Democracy & Freedom of speech and expression are not American values that we hold true?

No, that didn't happen. Nobody in here has 'defended' it, they have highlighted reality and hypocrisy though.

For every example where this is true, there is an example to the contrary. In situations where it has a financial impact, you will suddenly start seeing lot less 'freedom'.

Bro fuck that, in America the difference is, although unjustly, Kaepernick lost his job to play in the NFL and settled out of court for 10 mill for the NFL trying to silence him, in other countries, (like China & Russia, & Saudi Arabia ) its the government putting you in jail or making you disappear when you don’t “respect the patriotism. “

They did Kap dirty but he has and still is speaking out for his causes.

No shit America has had a policy of supporting dictators and oppressive regimes at their convenience of security and economy, America first foreign policy, although was more nuanced & covert with soft power mostly in the past, is not new and will always be there, but this situation with China telling an American company to shut the fuck up and NBA listening is unique af. And in my opinion a turning point in the world if properly escalated.
