the 870 is a great gun, and that was the first shot gun that i got when i turned 12,

they are reliable, and you really dont have to worry about them having issues

they are comfortable, and u can get parts for them everywhere, if u ever have an issue.....

i have drug mine threw mud, dirt, rocks, water....

dropped it in the water and didnt notice for an hour, droped it in mud and never had a problem with it

Benelli Super Black Eagle 12 gauge semi-auto shotgun is the way I roll, if I'm using a shotgun for small game, mainly use a .22 for squirrels and rabbits, shotty for partridge and pheasants. I use a Russian M-44 for Big game. That remington will last you for a long time if you take care of it. In other words, clean it after each use and keep oil on it. I have guns that are 70 years old that work just like new still because they we well cared for, my deer rifle is a sniper rifle from world war II. Remington is at the higher end of the middle of the road , in my opinion, good for a beginner because you can get a good gun at a decent price. A 20 gauge you should be able to shoot all day with shoulder hurting the next day, with a decent recoil pad on it, which it looks like it has.
