So this problem has been going on for couple of weeks...

Any alert box pop-ups are not showing up in my google chrome.

For example, I was taking a test on blackboard and at the end when you submit finish, usually an alert pop up box would show up with options like are you sure you are finished with two option boxed labeled yes or no.

Now none of these alert box pop-ups are showing up. I know they are there because when I try to click on anything, it won't let me and keeps making error blink sounds.

I have to hit enter/esc to get rid of the alert box (that I can't see) and be able to use my browser again.

Is this a glitch by chrome?

I tried pressing [alt][space][m] and dragging my mouse to maybe get the alert box on the screen if it was off to side somewhere but it's not working.

it could just be blackboard, i'm not sure if they "updated" their system and broke it, typically BB lol

you could try clearing cache/cookies and see if that fixes your issue :)

it's not just blackboard though

it's same for any other sites, just mentioned Blackboard as an example.

I already tried clearing cache and cookies but none of them seems to work :(

Have you checked the Chrome notifications settings?

Quote (Chrome Settings)
Open Chrome.
In the upper right corner of the browser window, click the Chrome menu.
Click Settings > Show advanced settings.
In the "Privacy" section, click Content settings.
In the dialog that appears, go to "Notifications" and choose one of the following:
Allow all sites to show notifications: You’ll automatically see notifications from all websites.
Ask when a site wants to show notifications: You’ll get an alert from Chrome whenever a site wants to show you notifications. This is the default setting.
Do not allow any site to show notifications: You won’t see any notifications from websites.

Mine was on "Ask when a site wants to show notifications: You’ll get an alert from Chrome whenever a site wants to show you notifications. "

But I changed to "Allow all sites to show notifications: You’ll automatically see notifications from all websites." to see if it will be fixed but it didn't work

Clear EVERYTHING via settings > history, then check ur extensions and make sure no adblockers are active (or malicious).
Then go to settings and scroll down, click on advanced settings, then click reset Settings: Restore settings to their original defaults.

If you are STILL experiencing the pop-up issue after the above steps:
Download the installer for chrome and leave it in ur downloads/desktop folder.
Uninstall chrome (google how if ur unaware), restart computer, and re-install chrome using that installer we just downloaded.
Make sure to re-add any extensions u need and disable any u know u dont.
